Oh Please… Obama Now “Outraged” at Jeremiah Wright’s Comments
What we witnessed today at the press conference he hastily convened, was the descent of Obama’s campaign from the sublime to the ridiculous.
The Obama campaign is now in full damage-control mode. But alas, for the New Messiah, it is too little too late, He tells reporters today that he is “outraged” by his former pastor’s comments delivered at the NAACP and the National Press Club over the past few days. But, did anybody hear him describe the exact same comments and spiteful message delivered over the last few years as outrageous? Of course not…
Thus, the question arises: in light of the fact that Wright merely restated some of his highly contentious and inflammatory remarks, why didn’t Obama decry these same remarks as outrageous during his speech on race in Philadelphia?
Where does his latest denunciation leave Obama? In the words of Allahpundit at Hot Air,
After 20 years of friendship, if Obama didn’t know Wright held these beliefs he’s a moron and if he did know he’s a fraud.
And what about Obama’s new pastor who equated criticism of Reverend Wright with a “lynching?” La plus ca change, c’est plus la meme chose.
The implosion of the empty suit candidacy continues…
Update: Can anyone seriously believe Obama when he says now,
“The person I saw yesterday was not the person I met 20 years ago.”
Update II: OK, perhaps he wasn’t the man you met 20 years ago. Was his performance yesterday the man you met or knew 10 years ago? 5 years ago? Two years ago? As an aid to facilitate his recall we can always show Obama some of the Wright sermon videotapes his church offers for sale.
Obama’s judgment on this score is not only suspect, it is irreparably damaged.
